A Passed Student Teacher means one who has successfully

Evening Institute, or who in the opinion of the Director of
Education has at least equivalent qualifications.

class approved by the Director of Education.
§ 15.
The salaries of untrained teachers shall be estimated
at the following rates:

Provided that with the approval of the Director of
Education, the salaries of untrained teachers who have completed
not less than ten years satisfactory service in a Hong Kong
school, may be estimated as the rates prescribed for Passed
Student Teachers in § 13 of this Code.
§ 16. The salaries of supervisors or teachers with special
qualifications shall be estimated at a rate approved by the
Director of Education in each case.
§ 17.
The employment of untrained teachers shall be approved
only when suitable trained teachers are not available.
§ 18. The salary scales laid down in the preceding sections
shall apply only to full time teachers. The salaries of part
time teachers shall be in proportion to their hours of employment.
